About Gutopia
Living with Crohn's
I'm Asher, I'm 17, and I have Crohn's disease.
On good days, I'm surfing. On treatment days, I'm sitting in an infusion chair for hours, connected to an IV. And on the days in between, I'm trying to figure out why I feel the way I do.
A few years ago, I started keeping notes on my phone: what I ate, how I felt, when symptoms flared. It was messy, hard to read, and honestly kind of depressing to scroll through. But it was the only way I could try to connect the dots between what I did days ago and how I felt today.
The Moment It Clicked
Building Gutopia during a biologic infusion
I spend a lot of time in infusion chairs. Hours every few weeks, just sitting there. So one day, I brought my laptop and started building the app I wished existed.
Every other health app I tried felt like it was made for someone tracking their morning jog or daily protein intake. Nothing felt built for people like us: people who need to know if that meal from four days ago is why we feel terrible today. People who need to track infusions, not just vitamins. People who want privacy because gut health is deeply personal.
So I decided to build something better.
What Gutopia Is
Gutopia is what I wish I had from the start: quick logging, real pattern recognition with lag awareness (0-7 days), flare forecasting, infusion cycle tracking, and everything running privately on your device. No judgment, no data mining, just insights that actually help.
I built this during my treatments because I needed it. But I'm sharing it because I know I'm not the only one who does.
If you're reading this and you have IBD, I hope Gutopia helps you take back some control. You deserve tools that understand what you're going through.
